/Offshore Field Engineer
Qualification: Essential Hydrographic Surveyor (Marine Based) or engineer with offshore sonar (multibeam) operation experience
The Field Engineer works essentially offshore and supports our customers either through demonstration of our real time 3D sonar, training of our customers to operate equipment or operating equipment on behalf of our customers.
The Field Engineer will be responsible for executing the technical brief agreed with our customers in the field and ensure the excellent delivery of the project.
The Field Engineer will receive training on our spread of equipment including our suite of real time 3D sonars.
Training will take place in our office in Edinburgh and the Field Engineer will spend time in the office to prepare or report on field projects.
We are looking for either a qualified hydrographic surveyor for this role or someone who has formal qualification as an engineer (who can be trained). However good understanding of surveying principles is essential.
It is essential that the successful candidate has some experience in customer facing engineering position. Good writing skills is essential.
Furthermore, we are looking for someone who is reasonably fit and energetic, enthusiastic, likes challenges generally and flexible.
This role involves extensive global travel and preference will be given to candidates who are self-starters, organized, demonstrate good customer facing skills and have a general enthusiasm for offshore environments.
- A good educational background with an engineering emphasis to degree level; or
- Qualified as a hydrographic surveyor or electrical or electronic engineer
- Good language skills, English is essential and Spanish an advantage
Travel is an essential part of this role and the candidate is expected to travel frequently to various offshore projects all over the world.
