/Senior Hydrographic Surveyor

Qualification: Essential Hydrographic Surveyor or other Marine/Environmental or Geophysicist Qualifications (Marine Based)

 

We are seeking a Senior Hydrographic Surveyor for the role of Senior Business Solutions Advisor based in our Edinburgh Office (South Gyle) where all your skills will be used to support our sales team’s efforts in presenting our unique patented technology to project survey team, planning projects (focus on integration with third party equipment), training customers and our junior staff and providing support to our customers and staff.

 

This role involves extensive worldwide travel.

 

This is an exciting role and provides experience of our cutting edge real time 3D sonar products and feature rich software package.

 

Requirements

 

We are for this role looking for either a qualified hydrographic surveyor who has actual experience of using sonars or someone from offshore engineering discipline or with a strong background in geophysics.  It is essential that the successful candidate has some experience in customer facing engineering position and/or in an scientist/instructor/teaching role.  Furthermore, we are looking for someone who is reasonably fit and energetic, enthusiastic, likes challenges generally and flexible.

 

Qualifications

 

The successful candidate will meet at least three of the following requirements:

 

  • A good educational background with an engineering or geophysics emphasis to master’s degree level or at least bachelor degree level with significant practical experience
  • Qualified as a hydrographic surveyor, electrical or electronic engineer or geophysicist
  • Good communication and language skills; English is essential and Spanish an advantage
  • Off shore working experience

 

Travel is an essential part of this role and may involve up to 50% of your time.  It may also be required that the incumbent will be working for longer periods of time in other locations where Coda Octopus is having or may in the future establish operations.

 

The remuneration package will be competitive dependent on experience. The starting salary is expected to be between £40,000 and £45,000.  This excludes offshore daily rate.
