At the most basic level, the Echoscope creates a 50^o by 50^o real-time 3D volumetric image that allows users to monitor divers while they work from a static or moving vessel. Typically, the work site is quickly mapped using the Echoscope and presented to the diver and dive master to review the area for hazards and effective path planning. Once the diver has entered the water, the real-time 3D volumetric images of the moving diver are easily superimposed on the scene map to allow complete situational awareness for the entire team and to allow for real-time decision making, enhancing the safety of the diver and protecting the efficiency of the operation all at the same time.
