GNSS time sync capability introduced in the Coda Octopus Pan & Tilt Range of Products
Coda Octopus are pleased to announce the introduction of its Time Sync capability in its integrated range of Pan and Tilt (IPT) including the ISAR.
This functionality complements existing time sync capability in our range of real-time 3D Echoscope® sonars allowing 3D sonar data, rotator data and navigation data to be fully synchronised to GNSS time at an accuracy of 1 millisecond.
The functionality requires a standard NMEA ZDA string over RS-232 and a 1 PPS (Pulse-per-second) signal as inputs to the CodaOctopus® 3D Deck Power Supply Unit. Both inputs are available as standard from our MOTION F180 series.
A key benefit is that the Echoscope® 3D sonar data and the rotator data are synchronised for patch alignment and the overall accuracy of the 3D data set can be further improved by applying a post-processed navigation file using the Corrected Navigation feature in CodaOctopus® Underwater Survey Explorer.
Forthcoming additions will include the provision of this dual Time Lock technology within the 3D Productivity Station (3DPS) which will be available as an upgrade to existing 3DPS units.
